Here in Ubud, I am diving into a spiritual community for the first time. I had been anti-spiritual and anti-religious my whole life up until three years ago and the beginning of my spiritual expansion was a very private endeavor with the help of a mentor so I never had the experience of being part of a community that considers energetic practices something normal and real.
Because it was my first experience of that kind I misinterpreted what was happening in Ubud. I saw all those people singing kirtans, doing yoga, and saging themselves before they went into meditation and thought everyone had figured it out. Since adopting some of those practices led me on a path of stability and inner growth my assumption was the same must have happened to everyone else.
Moving to Ubud I considered myself a village boy going to the big city spiritually speaking. Ubud felt like a hub of wisdom attracting the most advanced consciousnesses of their age something like ancient Rome or Florence during the Renaissance. Coming back from the Dragonfly Summit in Bangkok, Ubud feels so different all of a sudden. I have realized the centers of this new age won’t be places necessarily. The new centers gravitate around people. And since travel is so easy and fast nowadays those people move and the new network of the avant-garde doesn’t have a physically fixed center but a lot of moving centers that are constantly realigning.
Vortexes exist of course. In places like Pai, Sedona, or Ubud people seek connection to that network but those places feel more like shallow, safe breeding grounds for young fish offering nutrients in abundance before they swim out into the deep. Of course, the grown fish also come back here to rest and reconnect with their community but all in all, they are on the move.
So what is the difference between grown and young fish? Listening to people like Sadhguru, Steven Bartlett, Roxie Nafousi, or Yuval Noah Harari I realized that they are completely engaged with the 3D world whereas a lot of the Ubudian wisdom seekers (me included) tend to avoid that contact as much as possible. That approach has its place and is even necessary at some stage of our lives but all in all, I believe that we need to get out there, we need to interact with the conditioned world otherwise we’ll have some huge problems soon.
I feel the world collapsing around us. I still follow the news although I try to cut it down because it’s my prime expression of addictive behavior. What I see isn’t good and the worldwide tensions keep building up. I mean we have North Korean soldiers in the Ukraine and I believe China is months away from attacking Taiwan. Luckily enough we might have a morally stable and prudent captain like Donald Trump on the bridge soon to safely steer the world through those tumultuous times. 🤪ðŸ˜ðŸ™ˆ
listen to this energy update from my guides if you want to know more about the current dynamics that will culminate in the US election:
The transformation of this planet could be really f****ing messy and if we don’t act our part, this will go sideways. I explicitly don’t advise to engage in politics. I’ve tried it, trust me, it only drags you down and poisons you emotionally. I believe the path to go is to heal yourself first and stop being at war with yourself. Once you’ve done that you can have healthy relationships and friendships which will create functioning tribes and communities and so on. It is the slow path but the only sustainable way of planetary healing I can see at the moment. Only people who are in pain vote for people who are in pain.
If you honestly try to free yourself of past trauma and conditioning you are doing enough to save this world. I’ll write that sentence again because I believe a lot of us need to hear this to release imagined guilt for not doing enough. If you honestly try to free yourself of past trauma and conditioning you are doing enough to save this world.
After some time you will feel lighter and lighter. Energy will come back and once your cup is full it will overflow and nourish others automatically. At that stage everything you do to help others won’t drain you, it will energize you. I am at a stage where I can help others and I am deeply thankful for that beautiful experience. My new event is a part of that journey, so come by if you are around! I also invite you to join my WA community if you want to be invited to events online or in Ubud.
My appeal to you: Take care of yourself without compromise. Put yourself first. Or to quote my guides:
Be of service all the time but do not make it your mission to save this planet. Do not make it your mission to save other people. You’re only in charge of yourself. You’re only in charge of your own joy and your own expansion. And if you’re joyful, if you’re expanding, you will automatically save the world. You will automatically do your piece. You will automatically become at peace.

if you struggle with activist guilt or have other blocks that make it hard for you to focus on your own well-being I recommend you listen to those powerful transmissions:
at the beginning of the Dragonfly Summit, we sang this beautiful Buddhist mantra which is an encouragement to stay on your path - maybe you can integrate it into your morning practice:
hola, tom.
you're looking good and your writing is clear and positive.
my changes are continuing and i am feeling better in mind-body-spirit with a feeling of integration that is joyful! amazing stuff.
i'm close to being ready to actively begin my own expanded healing centre. i have a steady yoga client in exchange for spanish lessons. that has been a remarkable experience for my client and myself. she has seen a huge improvement in her physical health in many ways. and my expanded or concentrated integration has really changed and upgraded the quality of my instruction. and i have integrated the lessons i learned from you being my client and teacher almost two years ago now!
all the best with what is changing. everything is changing! with peace, respect, love and exuberant joy.
